Beetroot
|

|
 |
 |
| A
series of images which I intend to animate, to show the process of decay
of a beetroot over a period of a year. Unfortunately the beetroot did not,
as I hoped, crumble into dust. I will probably try the same exercise again
with olives. |

Using
light and an aluminium cylinder, this installation piece parallels the
folds and flow of inner space, both psychic and physical. Originally presented
as a small prototype, in full size the viewer becomes an integral part
of the piece.

drops video
|

|
|
| Short
close-up video piece of water drops filling and then emptying. The work
is a visual pun, in that as the water fills the container, the water level
appears to move down the screen; and as it empties, the water level goes
up.
Actually,
it was taken with the video camera upside down. |

On
Tap |
| |
|
|
Installation
piece which
consisted of a butler's sink and a tap. Instead of water,
however, blood came out. At the time the piece reflected my disgust at
the way the foot and mouth disease was dealt with by the British government
(Jan-September 2001), but since then its wider implications
have become apparent. |

A
short animation generated entirely digitally. The theme of inner space
and depth has persisted through later work, and may well lead to some
more 3D animations. |
